Welcome to the FIIX!
Florida Invitational Interventional Cardiology Symposium
Our Mission:
At FIIX, our mission is to advance excellence in Interventional and Peripheral Cardiovascular procedures through interactive case presentations and discussions led by experienced Interventional Cardiologists in an annual educational program. We are dedicated to providing scholarships and education to Interventional Cardiology Fellow trainees who show promise as future leaders in this field. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, we aim to enhance the care of patients undergoing interventional procedures, utilizing improved techniques and procedures as shared by the high-volume regional leaders of Interventional Cardiologists in the southeast.
Cardiac Catheterization:
Cardiac catheterization, also known as heart cath, is a fundamental procedure involving the insertion of a catheter into a heart chamber or vessel. This technique serves both diagnostic and interventional purposes, with subsets including coronary catheterization, which involves catheterization of the coronary arteries, as well as catheterization of cardiac chambers and valves.
As a general term, "Cardiac catheterization" encompasses various procedures performed using this method, such as coronary angiography and left ventricle angiography. Once the catheter is in position, it enables the performance of several essential procedures, including angioplasty, PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) angiography, balloon septostomy, Electrophysiology study, and Catheter ablation.
Join us at the FIIX Interventional Cardiology Symposium as we delve into the latest advancements, techniques, and discussions led by experts in the field. Together, we will drive excellence in interventional cardiology and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
